Donkey Rides
Dunton Stables is is a well established, ABRS approved horse riding and pony trekking centre in North Warwickshire, providing a diverse range of riding and stable management activities to children and adults of all abilities.
Dunton Stables are situated in Warwickshire, right at the heart of the Midlands communications network and within easy reach of the Motorways, Airport and Rail terminals. All the major entertainment venues are near at hand, together with business and conference facilities.
Horse Riding & Pony Trekking
Whether you are looking for structured and progressive horse riding lessons, a fun family activity or the opportunity to try something new to you, Dunton Stables offers safe and enjoyable horse riding and pony trekking experiences to meet your needs.
Donkey Rides
Dunton Donkeys are popular attractions at many major leisure events, nationally, and donkey rides are always in demand for fetes, carnivals and birthday parties. Dunton Stables carries full insurance for the provision of donkey rides and all activities are risk assessed to help to ensure the safety of the public and of the animals.
The donkeys are available to hire to make any event extra special. They will always be a firm favourite and a great attraction.
Donkey Derbies
Donkey Derbies are a great fundraiser and provide endless enjoyment for both riders and spectators. Local children with riding experience are essential for entertaining races, we suggest Riding schools and Pony Clubs should be approached. Ages 10 - 15 years but must be under 8 stone. Riding hats are compulsory.
Pony Trekking
Dunton Stables provide both the pony trekking novice and experienced rider with the chance to enjoy permissive bridleways free from cars around one of the countries major visitor attractions. Kingsbury Water Park, which has recently revealed greater tourist numbers, still gives the rider an 'away from it all' feeling as he or she goes alongside the River Tame.
North Warwickshire offers the opportunity to go pony trekking and horse trekking through a variety of country scenery-woodland, waterscape and open vistas across a landscape typical of the once Forest of Arden, much beloved of William Shakespeare.
The former gravel workings have now matured into a green landscape with a series of pools surrounded by a variety of trees and other vegetation. Part of the area, Hemingford gave its 12th century name to the wider Coleshill Hundred which was an old administrative sub-division of Warwickshire in medieval times. All areas covered are ideal pony trekking and horse trekking locations.
Pub Trek
For something different in riding, why not try pub trekking on a summers evening. Set off from Dunton Stables along the bridleway for a half hour trek to a local canal-side tavern.
Kids Mini-Trekking
Trekking is attractive to all ages and all abilities. For this reason, Dunton Stables has introduced kids mini-trekking.
Riding Lessons
Qualified and competent riding instructors provide a series of riding lessons for children and adults, from novice to very experienced riders who want the challenge of learning something new. Children from the age of 4 years are insured to ride at Dunton Stables. For very young, new riders there is a 30 minute session where they will learn the basics on a lead rein pony, before progressing onto a full 45 minute lesson.
For those who are interested in the care and welfare of the horses and ponies, customised stable management sessions are readily available.
Group riding lessons involve no more than 6 riders. This helps to ensure that each individual receives the attention needed from the instructor. Private riding lessons are also available. All riders are provided with hard hats and body protectors. Safe, enjoyable and fun riding experiences are enjoyed by people of all ages. Spectators and riders are offered Tea and coffee, free of charge. Riders are also given a cold drink after their lesson - to help them to cool down after their hard work!
Rug Washing
Keeping horse rugs clean can prove to be difficult if you are cleaning the rugs yourself, either by hand washing or using a conventional washing machine.
Removing tough stains and the process involved in thoroughly drying the rugs can cause problems when doing it yourself, which is why we recommend using our horse rug washing services to assure that you receive professional cleaning results.
All horse rugs are individually washed to ensure thorough soil removal. We wash horse rugs in a non-agitating commercial sized washer using water at no more than 40°C and hang dry to avoid shrinkage.
